Efficiency and eco-awareness

Online conferences are very environmentally friendly. At the 2010 conference, there were 483 participants. Not one had to travel to attend - no cars, planes or trains needed! No-one had to stay in expensive hotels. The presenters could do their sessions from wherever they wanted. And the conference organisers only had one face to face meeting, the rest being done using email, Skype and Elluminate.
