Synthesis and Evaluation of Reference Models

This project has completed. See the project website and the download the final report

Overview

This project will take the results of six reference model projects and collate pertinent information from them into a unified body of information that can be explored through a variety of dimensions (e.g. project, domain, methods and tools).

We will undertake an analysis in order to provide a synthesis that will demonstrate how the work of these projects fits into the overall area.  In turn these will greatly enhance access to the work, and so its practical value to the HE community.

Aim

To provide users easier access to the results of the reference model projects for people considering using service oriented approaches to implement parts of the e-framework

Objectives

  • Preserve the results of the projects
  • Collate the results of the projects
  • Analyse the results and draw out lessons learnt
  • Incorporate the results in a domain map to contexualise them
  • Provide any service usage models to the e-framework

Project methodology

The project is primarily desk research, based on the results of the projects, supported by a survey and telephone interviews

 Anticipated outputs and outcomes

  • Website providing a variety of views and ways of navigating the reference models already produced
  • Map of the domain
  • Any SUMs identified will be contributed to the e-framework
  • Brief guidance on the use of domain maps in the development of ICT system to support the delivery of Learning & Teaching
