HumBox Impact

Through JISC/HEA funding, the HumBox project developed a repository of Open Educational Resources (OER) materials for the humanities and worked closely with the wider UK humanities community to establish what is now a flagship example of what can be achieved in a discipline through OER engagement.

The HumBox Impact project will undertake an analysis of the impact of the collection on contributors and the wider teaching audience and will investigate emerging working and sharing patterns. The original project took advantage of the EdShare repository system (based on EPrints) that took a revolutionary approach to breaking down the barriers to educational deposits.

HumBox Impact will continue this spirit of innovation and will use the findings from its study to:

1. Develop strategies to ensure the increased use of the HumBox collection in HE
2. Develop tools (web site enhancements) to support new and emerging working patterns. These will be dependent on the study but may include:
    a. Advanced Search and Browse capability
    b. Recommendations and increased interlinking
    c. Remix and Reuse Tools
