Latest News (October 2011): The technical work of this project is now complete. The Newton Papers will be made available for use with the launch of the Cambridge Digital Library in early December 2011.

This short project proposes to develop mechanisms for enriching two important collections of documents created by Isaac Newton: the transcriptions of the Newton projects, based at Sussex, and the digital facsimiles of Newton's papers, being prepared for online delivery by Cambridge University Library within it's large 'Foundations of Science' project.

The two institutions will provide each other with feeds of images (Cambridge) and texts (Newton Project) to enrich the user experience within each site and facilitate easy movement between the sites. The project proposes to develop mechanisms that will enable substantial interlinking as both projects produce content over the next few years.

The project will also prepare video introductions to the key papers, providing a further window on the texts. The combination of images, texts, notes and videos will considerably enrich the user's experience and understanding of Newton's work.
