ASK: Accessing and Storing Knowledge
The ASK project will develop a suite of open source software artefacts that support learners, researchers and teachers in securely accessing and sharing learning objects. The project will implement a pilot design pertaining to a repository reference model based on the JISC E-Learning Framework (ELF) . The project will implement services that fall within the ELF i.e. metadata management, content management, authentication, and authorisation (Shibboleth) components.
The overall goal of the project is to build interoperability between user agents (such as VLEs and Activity Management systems) and information systems normally under the management of library departments. The ASK project is a direct response to the project partners institutional needs to integrate library and learning services.
