Library Systems Shared Services Feasibility Study (Wales)

• Provide a practical vision and road-map for a future shared library management systems infrastructure which will support Welsh HE institutions in delivering world-class systems and services to meet the needs and expectations of users.
• Develop a comparison of different infrastructure models and approaches, with costs and ongoing support requirements.
• Develop a set of use cases and guidelines to explore integration with local systems (eg: student information management, finance etc).
• Develop a risk analysis of different models and systems approaches (open source, commercial, hybrid).
• Analyse best practice in existing consortia models.
• Develop a business case for a shared service, encompassing required improvements to user experience and options for cost savings.  

• A business case for the development of a shared library management system across a consortium of Welsh Higher Education libraries.
• A summary of key requirements and issues to consider for implementation of a shared library management system, and the key benefits and impacts of doing so.
• Models for integration of a shared library management system with local systems and the wider national service infrastructure.
