JISC's Digital Infrastructure Strategic Directions strand of projects has a two-fold responsibility: in the first case it is the clear reporting of evidence from our full portfolio of activity to our National stakeholders in the Universities sector; in the second case it is our international reputation for leading infrastructure initiatives. In short, the 'Strategic Direction' work must collect evidence locally so it can think globally. This national and international perspective will result in high level evidence based reports that will influence the future directions of digital infrastructure from 2012 to 2013.

Directions: Strategic directions

This strand will produce high level evidence-based reports to influence the development of the digital infrastructure from 2012 to 2013. The reports will also serve to inform the UK higher and further education sector of national and international trends emerging from our portfolio of activities and the wider landscape. They will cover key strategic directions including: legal directions to ensure that the infrastructure we develop adapts to the rapidly changing legal landscape and vice-versa; and technical directions that report on technical issues arising from our programmes and the wider landscape that impact on the development of an effective digital infrastructure.

Reports will be produced on:

We also have a project examining the economics of digital infrastructure work.
