Work package: Customer Relationship Management
The aim of this work package is to support institutions to map, manage and optimise strategic partnerships and relationships on an enterprise-wide basis through the mapping and development of tools, frameworks, checklists, roadmaps and evaluations, software management and integration guidelines. |

Phase 1: CRM Process-mapping and Self-analysis tools
This project aims to:
- Equip key-decision makers with the means to understand, assess and review the extent, nature and interdependencies of the enterprise-wide processes and business functions which would be supported by a CRM system centred in BCE;
- Provide institutions with tools and good practices which enable them to protect and enhance the relevant business functions when considering a CRM system purchase
- Provide institutions self-analysis tools to assess and manage risk, readiness and efficiency of institution for enhanced CRM practices and system implementation

Phase 2: Process Improvement Trials and support projects
This project will apply the process mapping and self-analysis tools in approximately ten pilot trials in a representative range of institutions, reflecting three different stages of CRM usage maturity (peripheral, tactical and strategic). There will be a parallel support and facilitation project. |

Phase 3: Exploring CRM system solutions projects
Trialling approaches to CRM focussing on supplier selection, product criteria and lifecycle, preferred features, procurement and software integration, interoperability and management. Pilot projects plus management and synthesis project. |

Work package: Employer Engagement Systems and Processes
Pilots with parallel study followed by exemplars to investigate test and demonstrate infrastructure support, tools and processes needed by institutions to manage and deliver effective, sustainable and integrated employer engagement and support workforce development services. |

Phase 1: Employer Engagement pilots and synthesis project
Five small-scale pilots and parallel formative study and synthesis to investigate and test the processes, system integration and technology infrastructure needed to enable institutions to manage and deliver an effective, sustainable and integrated workforce development and CPD service, in support of strategic employer engagement.

Phase 2: Employer Engagement Exemplars – within the Institutional Innovation projects in lifelong learning and workforce development
Jointly delivered with the JISC e-Learning and Institutional Innovation programmes, up to 15 large –scale projects developing and implementing the use of appropriate technologies and processes to enable HE-level learning services that meet the needs of learners in the workplace, and of their employers, as part of strategic employer engagement or lifelong learning. A number of these projects will focus on support for workforce development. |
