Using emotionally intelligent transaction mapping to reshape student lifecycle interactions
Final Project Report
Overview
The project aims to create an Emotionally Intelligent Transaction Map of the pre-registration, registration and induction stages of the student lifecycle.
Aims and objectives
The anticipated aims and objectives of this project are, that by looking at how students ‘feel’ rather than what they ‘expect’ in transacting with the University through the key arrival transition stage, the University will be able to use this information to inform the service design of the pre-registration, post registration and induction stage of the student lifecycle so the services available for students enhance their experience of University.
Project methodology
An information gathering exercise will be undertaken analysing how students ‘feel’ about attending Swansea University using social networking sites. This information will inform the development of an online survey to be sent to all ‘new’ students during the pre-registration and post-registration processes. From the respondents a representative mix of students will be selected to participate in ongoing focus groups that will address aspects of service design that have been identified by the project officer through mapping the student interactions in the pre-registration , post registration and induction stages of the lifecycle.
