Access Management Transition: Programme Management
This project is responsible for delivering workpackages 1, 10, 11, 12 and 13 in JISC Access Management Transition Programme Plan. These workpackages cover establishment and administration of the Federation Board, the management of the programme, liaison with JISC Innovation and responsibility for short and medium term development planning for Federated Access Management.
Aims, Objectives and Scope
The over-arching aim of this project is to provide programme management support to the Access Management Transition Programme and the projects within that programme. As per JISC guidelines, this will follow the programme management approach as set-out in Managing Successful Programmes (MSP). Certain tasks above and beyond those detailed in such programme management have been assigned to this project, and are full detailed in this plan.
The project has the following specifice objectives:
- To establish by July 2006 and run for the lifetime of the Transition Programme a Federation Board that ias able to make informed decision regarding the requirements of Federated Access Management Policy for the UK Higher Education, Further Education and Schools Sector.
- To produce appropriate MSP documentation and maintain for the lifetime of the project.
- To establish regular communication with JISC Innovations by July 2006 and inform development decisions regarding federated access management over the lifetime of the Transition Programme.
- To define both short and medium term development requirements for federated access managment by October 2006, and to feed these in to the appropriate channels within JISC Innovations.
The project will be managed by Nicole Harris, Programme Manager within JISC Services Group, and overseen by John Robinson as the Senior Responsible Owner. The project will be steered by the Core Middleware Advisory Board (CMAB) and report to appropriate groups as detailed in the JISC Access Management Transition Programme Plan.
