This project will investigate approaches to address the areas of “Granularity and Delegation”, “Audit and Accounting” and “N-tier authentication”. The project will exploit the existing mature access management systems deployed in Newcastle University to investigate use cases, policy and procedure implications and the technical tools necessary to address these concerns.
Aims and objectives
The project aims to make advanced cutting edge approaches to “Granularity and Delegation”, “Audit and Accounting” and “N-tier authentication” a practical widely deployed reality. It will develop technical tools, use cases and policy to support the deployment of advanced tools in access management.
Project methodology
The project team based in ISS (information system and services) in Newcastle university will implement the project. The project has been split into work packages which will be implemented sequentially. The project will be implemented in a PRINCE2 project management structure.
Anticipated outputs and outcomes
The project will investigate and document use cases for the subject areas. It will investigate and produce technical tools to address the use cases. It will produce policy to support the controlled appropriate use of the tools.
