What is a web feed?
RSS web feeds allow you to see when the JISC website has new content. You can get the latest news articles, events, publications and funding opportunities in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the JISC website every day.
How do I start using RSS web feeds?
First you need a news reader, which is a piece of software that checks RSS web feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added to them. There are two types of news readers:
-
News readers accessed using a web browser - lets you catch up with your RSS web feeds from any computer
-
Downloadable news reader applications - lets you store RSS web feeds on your main computer, in the same way that you download your email using Outlook
