The Jorum Community Bay was conceived as a sandbox facility for developing and repurposing content for deposit into Jorum via a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

Executive Summary

The focus was on technical developments relating to creation of learning and teaching resources and the associated development process. The project start-up plan expanded this idea to offer support across the Jorum Community.

The focus for the Jorum Community Bay has changed during the period of the project to become a space for the Jorum community to share knowledge, resources and experience, and to seek help and guidance with a view to better supporting the process of sharing, reuse and repurposing of learning and teaching resources with the HE and FE community. The Jorum Community Bay offers additional features and capabilities to complement the existing Jorum repository service.

The ‘designated community’ [1] for the Community Bay is the core groups of users that we want to serve under the new Jorum service options that will support the three enabling licensing schemes of JorumOpen [2], JorumEducationUK [3] and JorumPlus [4].
