About

The Jisc Legal webcast will examine the legal challenges for colleges and universities that are considering the use of cloud computing services to outsource email, move data storage off-campus or use external servers and data centres.

At a time of huge change, economically and technologically, it is crucial to ensure that legal issues don't inhibit the innovative use of cloud computing services.

Speakers:

  • Andrew Cormack, Chief Regulatory Adviser, Janet

  • Shan Rahulan, Brokerage Manager, Janet

  • Kuan Hon, Research Consultant, cloud computing project at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS), Queen Mary, University of London.

Session objectives:

The objective of the webcast is to clarify the legal obligations that arise when making use of cloud computing services and to ensure that legal issues don't inhibit innovation. The value for delegates includes the opportunity to question FE and HE sector specialists in the delivery of cloud computing services. The webcast sessions will be recorded and will be available afterwards as learning resources on the Jisc Legal website.
