How to write that successful Jisc bid - resources available

16 May 2007

With a major Jisc call for proposals issued last month and open until 21st June (see announcement), the next month is likely to be a time of frenzied bid writing for many prospective projects. But what makes a proposal successful?

And with success rates as low as 10%, where is guidance'I think people will find the analysis reports of the last capital call submissions particularly useful.' available for busy managers?

There are a number of materials available, many of them now gathered together by Jisc’s e-Learning team, to help bid writers write that successful proposal. The resource contains links to Jisc’s ‘Guide to Bidding’, presentations from the recent Briefing Day for prospective bidders, resources from recent workshops and much more.

It also contains two sets of analysis of bids from previous calls both of which contain invaluable feedback and advice from experts in the bidding process.

Christina Smart of Jisc’s e-Learning team said: "Jisc recognises that people spend a lot of time and energy putting together proposals for Jisc projects, and whilst it runs lots of workshops and town meetings about how to submit a Jisc bid, it isn't always possible for people to attend. With calls currently open, the Jisc e-Learning team decided to gather together some of the great resources and advice people have on how to write a successful bid. I think people will find the analysis reports of the last capital call submissions particularly useful."
