JISC Digital Media to enhance skills

Today (10th June 2009) JISC Digital Media announces the launch of Video Assist, a new scheme to offer colleges and universities free individual consultations on how to create superior moving image resources.

Steve Hull, a Technical Support Officer at JISC Digital Media, said, “We will be looking for institutions that want to add an extra degree of professionalism to their video resources not just in current projects but in any work they undertake in the future.

“We are offering six projects over a 12 month period, four days worth of bespoke advice and expertise each. This will be delivered as a combination of off-site consulting about planning and preparations and on-site supervision of the actual production of the resources.”

The purpose behind this new service is to build the digital skills of education professionals so that they can continue to produce similar work in the future with a new degree of professionalism.

Video Assist will run during the 2009 – 2010 academic year and enhances JISC Digital Media’s existing services of a helpdesk, advice documents and training workshops.
