Digital preservation in the press

Digital preservation is a task ‘of mind-boggling proportions’ according to the Guardian editorial ‘In praise of…Digital Preservation’ (30 September 2008). Since practically everything we write or watch these days is in digital form…this is a task of mind-boggling proportions

The editor’s musings were inspired by the iPRES 2008 conference at the British Library on 29-30 September. This meeting of world-leading digital preservation authorities discussed the topic’s serious implications across countless professional and private spheres.

2008's conference was co-sponsored by JISC and showcased many of its ongoing funded projects.
