Digitisation, repositories and learning spaces to feature at BETT
Digitisation, repositories and learning spaces will
feature strongly at the BETT conference at the beginning of January. The
largest educational ICT event in the world, the conference and exhibition are
expected to attract nearly 30,000 delegates and visitors from around the
world.
'JISC
representatives will be presenting at the conference on areas of activity
of particular importance across educational sectors' JISC
representatives will be presenting at the conference on areas of activity
of particular importance across educational sectors, including the
provision of major scholarly resources, the development of repositories as
a means of making available a wide variety of digital content and the
design of technology-rich spaces to support learning and teaching.
Ros Smith, author of the JISC publication Designing
Spaces for Effective Learning, and speaker at the event, says
that the conference, which has traditionally focussed on ICT in the schools
sector, will be a good opportunity for practitioners and others across
sectors to learn about each others’ needs and perspectives: ‘Much of what
we do has application across sectors,’ she says, ‘ and so we have a great
deal we can learn from each other. This conference will be an excellent
chance for us to reach people from a wide range of educational
contexts.’
BETT runs from the 10th to the
13th January. Further details are available from: BETT
