Web of Science links to JSTOR
Subscribers to both the online resources ISI Web of Knowledge Service for UK Education and JSTOR can now link directly from the Web of Science abstracts service to full-text articles in the multidisciplinary JSTOR Scholarly Journal Archive, writes Suzanne Williams of MIMAS.
JSTOR is a digital archive collection of core scholarly journals. It is unique in that complete archives of these journals have been digitised, starting with the very first issues, many of which were published as far back as the nineteenth century. Accessible to researchers via site licences at academic libraries, the JSTOR archive combines high-resolution page images for display and printing with a linked text file for full-text searches of major scholarly journals.
Although Web of Science already incorporates substantial links to full text, this new tie-in with JSTOR content will boost linkage to content from a wider range of articles, including those in arts and humanities journals.
The service is now active and any academic site currently subscribing to WoK and JSTOR can send an email to the WoK Helpdesk at wok@mimas.ac.uk requesting direct linking to be enabled. Please include details of the JSTOR Collections in which you currently participate with your request. Once these FREE links have been enabled this will result in a small 'full-text' button being displayed next to individual articles that are included in WoK, where the full article is available within their collection(s) in JSTOR.
