Be an e-research roadshow host

9 April 2009

Do you know researchers who are not yet using advanced computing and information technologies for research, but wonder if they should? If so, your institution may be interested in hosting a Jisc e-research roadshow.

Might your institution be interested in hosting an e-research roadshow?

Each half-day event, delivered by the Training, Outreach and Education team at the National e-Science Centre, introduces the terms, concepts and benefits of using various e-infrastructure services, discusses specific tools now reaching maturity and outlines the steps researchers need to take to engage with tools and services. The programme can be tailored to audience needs and includes time to showcase local initiatives.

Aimed primarily at e-research novices, a roadshow may also appeal to IT services and researchers who are already familiar with the terminology, but would benefit from a wider perspective of the e-research/ infrastructure landscape.

Comments from previous roadshow delegates have included: 'really useful – a morning well spent'; 'it opened a door to a new area for me'; and that it gave 'an overview of current e-science and the institutions involved'.

If you are interested in hosting an e-research roadshow, please email Judy Redfearn
