With increased pressure on universities and researchers to preserve research data for re-use in the future, JISC's Research Integrity Conference considered the role of universities in safeguarding research integrity and looked into the real issues being faced by universities from a strategic and technical perspective.

Researchers and the institutions that employ them, are increasingly required to preserve the research data they create for re-use over the long term. Failure to do so can lead to breaches in public confidence in research, as recent high profile cases have shown. However, good research data management is not straightforward: it impacts on how researchers work and the research support infrastructures institutions need to put in place.
