Reshaping JISC

Update March 2012

In February 2011 the Higher Education Funding Council of England commissioned Sir Alan Wilson to carry out an independent review of JISC

The Review concluded that, ‘JISC is an invaluable national resource which has evolved in response to increasing demands over 20 years’. It made a number of recommendations to help us to continue to provide valuable services and ensure value for money at a time of financial constraint. It set out a blue print for our transformation.

Subsequently a Transition Group was formed, ably and skilfully led by Professor David Baker Deputy Chair of JISC, to flesh out the directions of travel set out in the review into a more developed roadmap for action. Many people from across the UK education and research community took time to submit rich input into what JISC of the future could and should be.

This presentation gives you an update on our progress, a timeline for our next steps and shows you where we are on our transition journey.
