Explains what iCalendar is and how it is used on the JISC website

What is iCal?

ICALiCal, or iCalendar as it is properly known, is an international standard and file format (.ics extension) for describing event information. It is supported by popular calendaring applications such as Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar.

The JISC website gives you the option to export events data in iCalendar format . There are iCalendar files for each individual event and an aggregated file for all current events. This provides a quick, easy and error-free way for you to add events you are interested in to your own personal calendars.
