JISC ITT: Study of Benefits of Open Access to Scholarly Research Outputs to the Public Sector beyond Higher Education

The JISC invites tenders to conduct a study of the benefits of Open Access (OA) to scholarly research outputs to the public sector beyond Higher Education in the UK.  

The aims of the study are:
  • To present the best evidence available of the benefits of OA the public sector beyond Higher Education.
  • To quantify, where possible, any financial benefits that have accrued.
  • To provide case studies of public sector organisations which have realised benefits from OA.

Total funding of up to £50,000 (including VAT, travel and subsistence) is available for this project.

The deadline for proposals is 12 noon UK time on 13 June 2011.

It is envisaged that bidders will be notified of the outcome of the evaluation process in the week commencing 4 July 2011.

The successful bidder will be expected to start work in July 2011.

The study is to be completed by the end of October 2011.
