JISC Grant Funding 5/11 JISC assessment and feedback programme: call for projects
The Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) invites institutions to submit funding proposals for projects to implement and evaluate institutional change in technology-enhanced assessment and feedback.
The deadline for receipt of proposals in response to this call is 12:00 noon UK time on Friday 15th July 2011

These projects will redesign assessment and feedback processes and practices, making best use of technology to deliver significant change at programme, school or institutional level |
- Up to 10 projects soughts
- 15 months to 2 years funded duration
- Further unfunded engagement until August 2014
- £100,000 to £200,000 available per project

B: Evidence and evaluation |
These projects will evaluate assessments and feedback related innovations which are already underway in a faculty or institution and report on lessons for the sector. |
- Up to 6 projects sought
- Six months to two years funded duration
- Up to £20,000 available per project

C: Technology transfer |
These projects will package a technology innovation in assessment and feedback for re-use (with associated processes and practice), and support its transfer to two or more named external institutions. |

- Nine months to two years funding duration
- Up to £40,000 available per project

Funding is available for projects starting from 1 September 2011. Theme A projects (Institutional change) may run for up to three years, including a final unfunded year, and must complete by 31 August 2014. Theme B and C projects (Evidence and evaluation, and Technology transfer) may run for up to two years, and must complete by 31 August 2013.

Eligibility
Proposals may be submitted by HE institutions funded via HEFCE, SFC, HEFCW and DEL Northern Ireland, and by FE institutions funded via SFC, DCELLS Wales and DEL Northern Ireland. FE institutions in England that teach HE to more than 400 FTEs are also eligible to bid provided proposals demonstrate how the work supports the HE in FE agenda.
Proposals may be from single institutions or consortia. Partnership arrangements may be developed outside the sector (for example with research council sites, publishers, commercial suppliers), but the lead partner must meet the criteria outlined above.
