JISC, on behalf of HEFCE, invites institutions to submit proposals to provide a shared service for the secure distribution of electronic documents that will allow institutions to move from labour intensive manual processes and work flows to more efficient electronic processes.

Shared Service for the Secure Distribution of Electronic Documents - 2/11

JISC’s Shared Services and the Cloud Programme is part of a suite of activities under HEFCE’s University Modernisation Fund which aims to help universities and colleges deliver better efficiency and value for money through the development of shared services.   As part of this programme JISC invites institutions to submit bids for a project to deliver a cloud-based shared service for the secure distribution of electronic documents.

Funding of up to £200,000 is available for this shared service which will allow institutions to move from labour intensive manual processes and work flows to more efficient electronic processes.

It is expected that the project will begin by 1 July 2011 and be complete and in service by 31 March 2012.  

Eligibility

Proposals may be submitted by Higher Education (HE) Institutions funded by HEFCEFE institutions in England that teach HE to more than 400 FTEs are also eligible to bid provided proposals demonstrate work that supports the HE in FE agenda. HE and FE institutions in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are not eligible to bid but may be involved as partners in proposals led by HE institutions funded by HEFCE or FE institutions in England which meet the criteria outlined above.
