Implementation and profiling support

JISC invites tenders to support the profiling and implementation of the Question and Test Interoperability (QTI) specification, version 2.1.

Aims of the project
  • Contribute to the definition of the main profile of QTI 2.1
  • Implement the main profile in at least one existing open source test rendering/responding system
  • Provide support, in the use of QTI 2.1 and the conversion of other question and test formats to QTI 2.1, to those developing assessment tools and authoring questions
  • Provide a publicly available reference implementation of the QTI main profile that will enable question and test item authors to test whether their material is valid, and how it renders and responds

Total funding of up to £40,000 (including VAT, travel and subsistence) is available for this project. The deadline for proposals is 12 noon UK time on Friday 18 February 2011.

It is envisaged that bidders will be notified of the outcome of the evaluation process in week commencing 7 March. The successful bidder will be expected to start work in mid-late March. The deadline for submission of final deliverables is 23 September 2011.
