JISC invites institutions to submit proposals to undertake work in the following four areas of innovation:

• Shared Service and Cloud Computing Pilots Up to 10 months duration between £50,000 and £150,000 available per project.
• Business Process and ICT Change Projects Up to 10 months duration between £40,000 and £100,000 available per project.
• Modularisation Proof of Concept Projects Up to 10 months duration up to £200,000 available per project.
• Technical Rapid Innovation Projects Up to 6 months duration between £15,000 and £40,000 available per project.

The funding available under this call is £1.4 million and JISC will see to fund the most appropriate balance of portfolio of projects to meet the overall objectives of the Flexible Service Delivery Programme.  Funding is available for projects starting as soon as possible but no later than 12 July 2010 for a maximum of 10 months.  All projects must be complete by 31 May 2011.

The deadline for receipt of proposals in response to this call is 12:00 noon UK time on Wednesday 19 May 2010

JISC is holding an online community briefing event on Thursday 22 April 2010 between 11.00-12.30 where potential bidding institutions will be given information about the background to the call, its objectives and the bidding process.  There will also be an online event for suppliers on the same day between 14:00-14:45.

Eligibility  Proposals may be submitted by institutions funded via HEFCE or HEFCW, FE institutions in England that teach HE to more than 400 FTEs are also eligible to bid provided proposals demonstrate how the work supports the HE in FE agenda.  HE and FE institutions in Northern Ireland, Scotland and FE institutions in Wales are not eligible to bid but may be involved as partners in proposals led by HE institutions funded by HEFCE or HEFCW or FE institutions in England which meet the criteria above.
