The JISC invites tenders to conduct a Technical Review of Cloud Computing for Research.

The aims of the review are:

• To provide a technical review of the current state of cloud computing for researchers in the computing and data storage areas;
• To provide advice and guidance on the technical aspects of cloud systems;
• To make recommendations to the JISC what development work should be carried out to enable cloud computing for researchers.

Total funding of £60,000 (including VAT, travel and subsistence) is available for this project.

The deadline for proposals is 12 noon UK time on Thursday, 15 October 2009.
