ITT: User Behaviour Observational Study
The JISC invites tenders to conduct a six-month user behaviour observational study of students and researchers in higher education who are studying business studies and economics.
The aims of the study are to:
-
Demonstrate the issues that real users face when navigating the web and interacting with scholarly resources;
-
Identify the implications of these findings for publishers, librarians and others who design interfaces and resource discovery systems and environments;
-
Highlight to JISC, publishers and librarians areas where further research or activity is needed.
Funding of between £80,000 and £90,000 (including VAT, travel and subsistence) is available for this work.
The deadline for proposals is 12 noon on 13 March 2009.
It is envisaged that bidders will be notified of the outcome of the evaluation process in week commencing 23 March 2009.
The successful bidder will be expected to start work by 30 March 2009.
The study is to be completed by 30 September 2009.
