JISC invites tenders to conduct a study of collaborative research technology in virtual research communities around the world. The aims of this study are to investigate developments in virtual research communities around the world in relation to the activities in the VRE programme in the UK; and update as necessary the 2006 report by OSI e-Infrastructure Working Group on Virtual Research Communities.

ITT: Virtual Research Environments Collaborative Landscape Study

JISC invites tenders to conduct a study of collaborative research technology in virtual research communities around the world.

The aims of this study are to:

Total funding of £75,000 (including VAT, travel and subsistence) is available for this project.

The deadline for proposals is 12 noon on 20 February 2009.

It is envisaged that bidders will be notified of the outcome of the evaluation process in week commencing 16 March 2009

The successful bidder will be expected to start work on or around 1 April 2009.

The study is expected to be completed by 31 July 2009.
