This invitation to tender invites bidders to submit proposals for a study that will seek to identify and analyse sources of long-lived data. The properties of these data will include the potential to determine, with some degree of accuracy, the total cost of ownership over their entire lifecycle, thereby making them suitable candidates for cost analysis procedures.

ITT: The identification of long-lived digital datasets for the purposes of cost analysis

The aim of this work is to provide a larger body of material and evidence against which existing and future data preservation cost modelling exercises can be tested and validated.

Total funding of up to £60,000 is available for the study, including VAT, and travel and subsistence.

The deadline for proposals is 12 noon on Wednesday 18th February 2009

The full ITT can be found below.
