JISC invites institutions to submit funding proposals in the following areas.

| Shared Infrastructure Service Embedding projects |
Projects to:
- Embed shared infrastructure services (SIS) into institutional systems in order to demonstrate the benefits for end users of the service
- Synthesise the work of the embedding projects into the Information Environment Demonstrator[1] and, where appropriate, extract service usage models[2]

Total funds: c. £200,000 c. 5-10 projects £5,000-£30,000 per project 8 months duration
Total funds: c. £50,000 1 project 9 months duration

| Developing Shared Infrastructure Services requirements and roadmap |
Projects to:
- Investigate the requirements for shared infrastructure services in order to help define a roadmap for shared infrastructure services into the future
- Undertake supporting studies for the development of a roadmap which will consider the needs of particular domains

Total funds: c. £80,000 1 project 9 months duration
Total funds: c. £180,000 Up to 8 projects, max £30,000 per project 6 months duration

The deadline for receipt of proposals in response to this call is 12:00 noon on Wednesday 11 June 2008.
Funding is available for projects starting from July 2008 for up to 9 months depending on the area of work. All projects must be complete by the end of March 2009.
