JISC ITT: Landscape study of financial and non-financial benefits of institutions’ ICT investments
This document invites proposals to undertake a landscape study that will identify the methods and measures used by institutions to assess and evaluate change with respect to ICT investments. The study will investigate a wide range of techniques including, but not limited to, those undertaken across the United Kingdom Further (FE) and Higher Education (HE) sectors, as well wider European and international approaches. It is anticipated that the study will begin in May 2008 and will be completed by August 2008.
The main deliverables from this study will be:
i. A report describing the ways in which institutions define, measure and evaluate a range of financial and non-financial criteria for success with respect to their investments in ICT systems and processes;
ii. A set of ‘evaluative tools’ providing access to qualitative and quantitative approaches that will allow institutions to standardise approaches, including supporting material to aid selection and use of the tools ;
iii. Recommendations to help focus future JISC activities in this area.
Funding of up to £35,000 including VAT and all related travel and subsistence expenses is available for this project.
The deadline for proposals is 12.00 noon on 9 April 2008. It is anticipated that a decision will be announced by 25 April 2008.
