JISC ITT: Study on timetabling and resource scheduling
The Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) invites tenders to conduct a study on the administrative processes and challenges around timetabling and resource scheduling for learning opportunities, and the way in which these link with curriculum and session planning.
The aims of this study are to provide an overview and examples of the processes involved in timetabling and resource scheduling for learning opportunities, to summarise how well these are supported by currently available technology, and to identify where problems arise.
The main deliverables of the study are a summary report, and a set of scenarios and ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ process models for timetabling. These reports should be delivered to JISC by the end of August 2009 at the latest.
Up to £50,000 (including VAT and expenses) is available for the study over a period of nine to 15 months, starting in May 2008. The deadline for submission of tenders is no later than 12:00 noon on 9 April 2008.
