Circular 1/05: Management and leadership in ICT programme

This circular invites further and higher education institutions to submit funding proposals for projects to support a Management and Leadership in ICT Programme.  Total funding of up to £275,000 is available for the programme which will comprise the following three elements:

Project A (two projects – one FE and one HE)The impact of information systems on student recruitment, retention and results (up to £120,000 available - £60,000 per project).  The expected outcomes from these projects are:

  • a final report of the research activities
  • a series of dissemination events (to be agreed with JISC)
  • a management briefing document

Project B Partnership and collaboration for information sharing (up to £60,000 available). The expected outcomes of this project are:

  • six case studies of collaborative practice
  • a final report of the research activities
  • a dissemination event (to be agreed with JISC)
  • a management briefing document

Project C Strategies for managing ICT and its application within colleges and universities (up to £95,000 available). The expected outcomes from this project are:

  • a report, including a mapping of the elements of strategy implementation and use, common features and differences and conclusions regarding the impact and effectiveness of current practice in strategic planning of the application of ICT to further and higher education
  • an invitation seminar of senior managers to discuss the findings and make recommendations for future work
