ICT Awareness & training for the Arts & Humanities community
Awareness & training programme for the Arts & Humanities community in the UK
Funding of up to £100,000 is available for the development of an ICT awareness and training development programme targeted at the arts and humanities community.
Much innovative and exciting use of ICT is being made by Arts and Humanities researchers and it is important to ensure that awareness of advanced ICT techniques and facilities such as the Arts and Humanities Data Service (AHDS) and the Resource Discovery Network (RDN) is maximised. However, limited resources mean that it is difficult for universities to provide dedicated Arts and Humanities training in the use of IT to enable researchers to make the best use of the new technologies and understand their benefits.
JISC, through its Committee for the Support of Research (JCSR), has agreed therefore to fund an awareness and training programme targeted at the arts and humanities community. The proposal has been developed in consultation with the Arts and Humanities Research Board (AHRB). The main output will be a suite of nationally available online resources.
Funding of £100,000 over two years has been made available for this programme. JISC circular 02/04 invites bids against these funds.
