JISC Mediasite

JISC is starting to use Sonic Foundry's Mediasite suite to stream some of its events. Mediasite is a video and presentation streaming package which uses Silverlight and lets online viewers interact with streaming presentations and videos.

The interface allows viewers to switch between the presentation and the streaming video and also allows viewers to ask questions and take part in polls.

Please see the image below to view what the buttons do in the Mediasite Silverlight interface.

Click on the image or here for full details of how the Silverlight interface works.

There is also a Classic Player interface which provides similar navigation and interactivity tools within a more traditional video and slide layout. For full details of how the Classic Player interface works please click here.

For an example of how JISC used Mediasite, and as a way to test your settings to view a Mediasite presentation, please view the JISC Conference 2011 mediasite archive.
