JISC Digital Media has recently been awarded centre status by edexcel for the delivery of BTEC accredited courses. The first course is a three-day Professional Certificate in Digital Imaging, the 'must have' professional qualification for digital imaging professionals.

How is the course structured?

The course is run by JISC Digital Media specialists and will be divided into three, one day self-contained sessions covering;

  • Digital capture
    Giving learners the opportunity to develop skills in digital image creation and capture. The unit employs a practical approach to image creation and capture using a range of digital image equipment. It also gives consideration to the importance of lighting in the context of digital photography.
  • Image optimisation and manipulation
    Enabling learners to develop and explore their digital image processing skills, together with their knowledge of the associated technology and systems
  • Digital asset management
    Designed to enable learners to develop and explore metadata that is relevant to their digital images. The unit will also explore relevant intellectual property legislation as it applies to digital images.

Successful completion of the three units will lead to the award of the BTEC Professional Certificate.

The first Bristol based course will be offered at a discounted rate of £850 (normal cost £1,100) per delegate.
