Funders, Policies and Practices for Sustaining Digital Resources

Executive Breakfast Briefing

Please join us for an exclusive executive briefing on new ground-breaking international research into a little explored, but critical area of funders’ practice: How do grant making bodies think about and plan for the ongoing impact digital resources their funding has helped to create?

This  study, commissioned by the Strategic Content Alliance, with the generous support of the BBC, British Library, JISC, MLA and the Wellcome Library, and undertaken by Ithaka S&R, was published on 14th  June. Based on over 80 interviews with programme officers, project leaders and other experts in the funding landscape, this study offers a detailed look at just how funders are defining “sustainability” for themselves and their grantees today, and suggests ways to help further guide their grantees.

An electronic copy of the study can be found here

Kevin Guthrie, President of ITHAKA, will lead the briefing. It will provide a unique opportunity to hear first hand emergent trends, innovative funding models and new techniques being adopted by funders from Europe and North America.

Who should attend?

  • To share thoughts on this topics with others facing similar concerns.
  • This is an opportunity for them to help influence our current and future investments into this research area, by sharing emerging areas of interest and the most pressing issues to resolve.
