The ESCalate/JISC HE in FE Conference: Inspiration For Practice

This conference is designed for HE practitioners working in an FE environment, and will examine the challenges and opportunities of that situation, as well as offering some ideas for excellent practice

We are very fortunate to have two keynote speakers. Our first is John Storan, Director of Continuum at the University of East London (UEL), an international authority on Widening Participation strategy and practice, which is a topic of immediate importance for all HE in FE practitioners.

Our second is Diane Thurston, Business Development Manager at Newcastle College who will be speaking on professional concerns for HE practitioners in FE settings, including issues of status, professional standing and practitioner research capacity in the lifelong learning sector.

There will also be a diverse range of thought-provoking sessions that include

  • The e-portfolio: Mapping, tracking and tagging evidence of progress
  • Dual identities: Enhancing the in-service teacher trainee experience in the lifelong learning sector
  • Looking from the outside in: Lecturers experiences of the expansion in HE provision in FE colleges

This event will take place on Wednesday 26 May 2010 at The Trident Centre, Warwickshire College.
The cost is £35 which includes lunch and refreshments.
