Lifelong learning, work-based learning, widening participation and a drive to deliver an improved service for all students, is leading universities and colleges to manage and share course information of unprecedented complexity. This might include course descriptions, fees, entry requirements or qualifications. Institutions face significant challenges in ensuring that this information is communicated accurately, consistently, cost-effectively and time-efficiently throughout the process of advertising, approval and delivery.
Exchanging Course Related Information (XCRI) addresses such issues by defining a model through which course information can be shared. Those involved in marketing, quality assurance, and enrolment (both within the institution and beyond) can access consistent course-related information and adapt it to their individual needs.
In this workshop, delegates have an opportunity to diagnose what is needed to adopt XCRI in their own institution and map out steps for implementation. Representatives from JISC’s projects will be sharing their expertise in how to gain buy-in from colleagues and put XCRI into action. |
