Session abstract

Finding digital material is fundamental to research and learning and at the core of library, museum and archive services.

This session will outline the recommendations of the Resource Discovery Taskforce, a joint project between JISC and Research Libraries UK (RLUK). The Taskforce has been working for the past year to define a vision and outline the provision of a shared UK infrastructure that will support the development of innovative new resource discovery services to provide access to the unique collections of libraries, archives and museums.

There will be an opportunity for delegates to discuss JISC’s plans to realise this vision and improve access to digital materials. The discussion will cover areas such as making online resource discovery services more effective; ensuring that library catalogue information is widely available; and enabling researchers and students to find and access to what they need, no matter where the resource is held.

Session Chair

Professor David Baker, Deputy Chair of JISC
