Host: Professor David Baker, Deputy Chair, JISC
Technology is at the heart of education and research and for over a decade JISC has been at the forefront of the technology revolution, stimulating innovation and sharing knowledge and benefits. JISC’s future role is set out in a new strategy to 2012, a blueprint for change that comes at a time of serious economic recession and a period of unprecedented change for education and research. This question time style debate considers this blueprint in the context of higher education and looking beyond 2012, asking what can we expect the future of education with technology to look like and how can we ensure JISC continues to be relevant to the needs of the Higher Education (HE) sector for the next decade?
The debate, led by Professor David Baker and joined by a panel of experts, will hand the microphone over to the HE community to share and discuss the issues that it believes will impact on institutions in the future for example:Event tag: jisc10
- cloud computing
- future funding of HE
- national and international competition
- pressure to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Delegates will be able to submit questions for the panel as well as take part in the discussion on the day.
The event will be of interest to a wide range of people including those on the ground as well as policy makers and funders.
