| Session abstract |
|
The biggest challenges of running a technology project are often organisational, rather than technical. This session looks at the role of the facilitator in cross-department projects, especially where researchers, software developers and IT services staff are all involved. What skills must a facilitator have to ensure the project delivers what is needed with the minimum of fuss? How does a facilitator differ from a project manager? Where do good facilitators come from?
Come to this session and learn from people who have bridged the gap between the different styles and languages in a diverse project team.
This session draws on the experiences of the fourteen researcher-led software projects supported through the JISC funded ENGAGE project run by Open Middleware Infrastructure Institute UK (OMII-UK).
