Having a content-rich “looks good” website is one thing. Having a content-rich “looks good” website which contains material that can be reused, mashed, distributed and shared is something entirely different.
This session will look (in a non-technical way) at:
- why RSS, API’s and other means of programmatic access are possibly the most important thing happening on the web at the moment
- the good things that happen when you set your content free...
- and the bad things that happen when you don’t
- how to do it

This presentation will focus on the outputs of a short JISC funded project investigating the issues around enhancing existing digitized material by the addition of georeferences The presentation will set the project within the wider context of JISC geo-infrastructure and will outline some tools and services available to the community for 'geo-enabling' resource collections.
