Edinburgh Travel Information - JISC Conference 2009

Getting to Edinburgh by public transport is easier than you might think, with a choice of train, plane, coach or even boat to get to the city.
Furthermore, the Edinburgh International Conference Centre is conveniently located in the centre of Edinburgh, a short stroll away from Princes Street, Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile.
If you do have to travel by car the links below provide good directions and car parking maps. However, we strongly encourage you to use public transport or perhaps try and organise a car-share, to help us reduce the carbon footprint of our conference.
Lift Share, for example, offers an excellent way of finding others that may be travelling to and from Edinburgh the same time as you.
The following websites give very detailed instructions on how to get to Edinburgh and the EICC:
Transport Direct is also a very useful website to help you plan your journey from door to door whatever your mode of transport and also now calculates the Co2 your journey will produce.
