Paradox of the agile institution: Enterprise Architectures as strategic enabler of change
| Abstract |
A vision is emerging of an adaptive and flexible business and information infrastructure that supports evolving organisational goals. Enterprise Architectures (EA) and Service-Oriented Approaches (SOA) are presently enjoying a high profile as offering a way forward for bringing this vision about. Using these techniques institutions are able to adapt to change by ensuring that their business processes and their IT systems are designed to work in tandem.
This session will consider both the potential and proven benefits, and the considerable challenges, for institutions in adopting these approaches, from a non-technical perspective. It will outline what initiatives, support and resources are available to support these decisions, and will be of interest to a wide audience. |

| Who should attend? |
It is recognised that the successful adoption of a strategic, effective and flexible business and information infrastructure requires the involvement of all stakeholders in the process, from senior institutional managers responsible for policy and funding decisions, directors of corporate information and ICT, Registrars, Librarians, Researchers and other business and change leaders.
This session will therefore be designed to be of interest to a wide ranging audience. |
