Using learning resources: transforming the educational experience

Managing learning resources

Approaches to managing learning resources range from formal repositories at national, regional and subject discipline level, to those of students managing their own resources on their desktops to support formal and self-directed learning. Cultural and legal issues relating to sharing and re-use of content are significant drivers and barriers to the way institutions approach this activity. A wide range of technical issues have been addressed in this area ranging from metadata, current awareness via feeds, repository interfaces, harvesting and resource discovery, user authentication, and access to resources held in repositories.

Session Facilitator: David Findlay (DLiC Review Panel, previously JLT member)
