Andrew Comrie
Andrew Comrie has worked in the Further and Higher Education sectors for over
20 years holding academic, management and senior management posts.
Living in Scotland, Andrew has always been interested in how alternative
learning and teaching methods and technology could be used to improve access
to education for people living in rural areas. With this ambition in mind,
whilst at Perth College, Andrew ran a very successful Distance Learning Unit
and setup the first Technology Enhanced Learning Centres in Perth and
Kinross-shire. He was also part of the team that designed the
library/learning resources service for the UHI Millennium Institute. In the 8
years that Andrew was Vice-Principal at Lauder College in Fife, he introduced
learning, teaching and assessment strategies which resulted in the innovative
use of learning resources and learning technologies across the
Curriculum. Andrew set up his own Consultancy Company in 2007 and most
recently has been directing the TESEP e-learning transformation project in
Scotland for Napier University and has been working with the Higher Education
Academy as a Critical Friend on the Pathfinder Programme.
